TOURISM TOGETHER IN BANFF NATIONAL PARK

STRATEGIZING THE DESTINATION TOGETHER WITH COMMUNITY AND PARK: What should the future of tourism to Banff National Park look like? As part of the Tourism Together process, we are working with community and stakeholders of Banff National Park Canada, to unfold a sustainable future of tourism to the iconic destination in the Canadian Rockies. Group NAO was commissioned in mid-2021 to assist Banff and Lake Louise Tourism in working together with key stakeholders towards developing a long-term tourism vision for Banff National Park.

From the onset, key priorities were around balanced growth, addressing both community wellbeing and environmental sustainability. With three surveys (of stakeholders, residents and tourism employees), more than 45 stakeholder interviews, 6 Working Groups with representatives of different interest groups, businesses, community groups and residents, in total, more than 2,000 community & park representatives have been engaged in the process of imagining and shaping the future of tourism to Banff National Park.
