From Closed Doors to an Open Platform

Tourism strategies are often discussed behind closed doors. In Bordeaux, the ambition was to open the conversation. That's why Group NAO was commissioned to develop a working concept for a new digital tourism platform for the Office de Tourisme & des Congrès de Bordeaux Métropole, with the aim of creating a space that could support a broader shift in how tourism is discussed, understood, and shaped across the city.

The work positioned the platform as an open infrastructure for insights, dialogue, and participation - a place where research, data, and perspectives are shared transparently, and where citizens, stakeholders, and civil society engage with the future of tourism in Bordeaux. It acts as a hub for knowledge and strategy, making insights accessible and understandable. It supports a more open and balanced conversation about tourism and its sustainability, not with constant open-ended input, but targeted, meaningful participation around specific questions and challenges. It functions as a tool for transparency, documenting ongoing processes and tracking progress over time. And it has contributed to Bordeaux's tourism strategy development for the years to come.
