An annual platform for discussing tourism’s next trends, challenges, and opportunities in Luxembourg.
An annual platform for discussing tourism’s next trends, challenges, and opportunities in Luxembourg.
Tourism is changing fast. The question is not whether destinations adapt, but how they create space to reflect, discuss, and act on that change. Since 2023, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) has partnered with Group NAO to design and moderate the Luxembourg Tourism Summit, an annual gathering that brings together local stakeholders and international experts to explore the future of tourism in Luxembourg. Across its three editions, the summit has convened more than 130 professionals each year from across the tourism ecosystem, around a thematic focus that addresses the most pressing shifts shaping the sector. The 2023 edition laid the foundation by opening a cross-cutting conversation on the future of tourism in Luxembourg. In 2024, the spotlight was on sustainability and the transformative role of artificial intelligence. In 2025, the conversation evolved into a broader framework centred on people, place, and planet, exploring how tourism can contribute to resilient communities and destinations.
The summit combines high-level perspectives with local relevance. Speakers have included voices from leading academic institutions like the University of Edinburgh and the University of Surrey, destination associations like the Global Destinations Sustainability Movement, and international experts from consultancy, research institutes, and leading destination organisations from across Europe, alongside representatives from Luxembourg’s own tourism and city leadership. Rather than functioning as a traditional conference, the summit is designed as a working space for dialogue. Keynotes, panels, and facilitated exchanges are used to test ideas, surface tensions, and translate global insights into concrete relevance for Luxembourg. The result is a unique platform for strategic learning and conversations around what tourism should be and do in Luxembourg in today's fast-evolving world.
